Ragusa Ibla, Sicily
CASA VALENTINE is located in the historic center of Ragusa Ibla, Sicily. First built in 1930, the house has evolved over time, with each addition reflecting the period in which it was made. The most recent update—a rooftop extension completed in 2023—was designed to quietly echo the building’s original character. Ragusa Ibla, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is known for its Baroque architecture and hillside setting between two valleys. A 12-minute walk through its winding streets leads to the town center, home to numerous churches, traditional trattorias, and two Michelin-starred restaurants.

HOMAGE
TO SAINT
VALENTINE
Associated with the celebration of love and romance the notion of Valentine is so universal that it felt relevant to the charm of this property
Saint Valentine is a somewhat mysterious historical figure, but the most popular tale says Saint Valentine was a priest in Rome during the 3rd century under Emperor Claudius II. Supposedly the Emperor banned marriages for young men, believing single men make better soldiers. Firmly against this, Saint Valentine defied the Emperor, secretly performing marriages for young lovers and with this led to his execution on February 14th. Over time, whether a person you admire, the message you send to someone adored, or a holiday to treat yourself, Valentine is associated with love and devotion- the qualities that went into the building of this property and its contents.

CASA VALENTINE IS A REVIVED RELIC
FROM THE CITY’S ROMANTIC PAST.
MORE THAN A PLACE TO STAY, IT’S A PORTAL TO THE RICH CULTURAL HERITAGE OF SICILY.

Welcome
Benvenuto
